I was privileged to have spent two hours a week with David for the last few years in lipreading classes. I was first struck by how kind and supportive David was to have come along to learn all about hearing loss so that he could help Paulette out as much as possible. I thought that was such a fantastic thing to do. I then came to realise what a deeply intelligent man David was with a fantastic general knowledge and range of anecdotes. I could always rely on David to know the answers to my questions or to add an interesting snippet of information to the exercises. His intelligence and hard work soon paid off and he became a fantastic lipreader himself. He even learned to be more 'lipreadable' even though Paulette and I continued to tease him! I'm going to really miss his quiet good humour in my classes. xx
