David was a lovely man, witty and intelligent and great company. This with Paulette seemed to involve eating good food and drinking good wine. However one memorable day stands out when they came up to Yorkshire and we followed in the footsteps of The Railway Children. Travelling by steam on The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway we stopped at Haworth. The town has a very steep hill to walk up. David of course spotted, before anyone else, a little old pub to stop at for lunchtime refreshments. We then went on up the hill to the Bronte Parsonage and David was enchanted with it. He was clearly devoted to Paulette and the rest of his family. He lives on in the hearts of all those who knew him. Ailsa and Dave
